P.Peyre travaille sur différents procédés laser parmi lesquels : les traitements de surface (choc-laser, refusion laser) et les effets induits (propriétés électrochimiques - ANR CAPSUL, états mécaniques de surface) , la fabrication directe par laser de matériaux homogènes et hétérogènes, et l'amélioration des états de surface associés (ANR ASPECT), et le soudage laser de matériaux légers et hétérogènes (assemblage acier-aluminium).
